Our Impact
Since 1986, more than 1800 participants from St. Agnes and the surrounding parishes have traveled to Mexico to build homes. We have built over 99 homes, a church, a community center, and a faith formation building. Many of the people who are part of the La Morita Mexico Youth Mission testify that the experience has changed them in profound ways, in their faith, in choosing what they want to do in their lives, in their understanding of poverty and the relationship between the U.S. and Mexico, and in their continued participation in Christian service and social justice.
Impact Statements from Participants
"Going to Tijuana was one of the singlehandedly most eye opening and humbling experiences I have ever had. The impact we are making in these families' lives is indescribable and almost too amazing to put into words. The work is hard, the trip is emotional, but the reaction and sincere gratefulness we get from the families when they get their homes is priceless. We are actively bringing God's work and message to life, and that is something that should never be passed up."

"My name is Ellie and this is my third year on the trip. I can't quite put my finger on it, but there is something about this experience that always has me coming back year after year. There are no words to describe how amazing LMMYM has been for me and I recommend it to anyone and everyone."
"This trip has been one of the most influential opportunities in my life. I would never dream of missing it." Peter

"Hi, my name is Selena and going to Tijuana for Spring Break was a life changing experience that has completely changed me as a person. Not only has this trip made me grateful for everything I have but it also has made me take into perspective that others aren't as fortunate as I am. I hope everyone is able to experience this life-changing trip by helping others in need."
"I have never felt the same love that I hold for the families in Mexico and those who help spread our love on this trip. To say that LMMYM has changed my life would be an immerse understatement. Every moment since my first on this trip, I have been grateful for the experiences and lessons it has given me."
